Native Americans Started with Haplogroup R ? Not Q ?
I love this post just sent to me from my Q group! It has the most interesting information. We know that our haplogroup is Q1b1a, a Jewish branch of Q. The Q line is also found in Native Americans, showing that we branched off of it long ago since Q's originated in Siberia, Mongolia and parts of Turkey about 15,000 to 20,000 years ago. Q has been the link for Asia and the Americas, found in northern and central Asian populations as well as in Native Americans. It is thought to have originated in central Asia and migrated through northern Eurasia into the Americas. So evidently there were more than one Y haplogroup living way back then in these places.
A Russian 4 year old child's remains have been found who lived 24,000 years ago in Asia. His tests show that he was of the Y haplogroup R. R1, which is European, is found a lot in England. Then again, Egypt claims that King Tut was also an R. R was thought to have come from NW Asia about 30,000 to 35,000 years ago. R2 is found only in Indian, Iranian and central Asian populations. This boy was found to be 30% Western Eurasian.
His Mitrochondrial haplogroup was U, another European line. U's go back 50,000 years and could have interacted with Neanderthals in Europe. This was the mtDNA of Cheddar Man. 40%k of Europeans have the clade U5, the most frequent and ancient subcluster of U. U2 is most common in India and U6 in North Africa.
This brings to mind the following:
41,000 years ago the Denisovan lived, pre-runners of Neanderthals.
38,000 years ago the Neanderthal lived, of which we European origin all bear a % of their genes.
15,000 to 20,000 years ago the Asians crossed the Bering Sea land bridge to get to North America.
